i honestly feel what youre saying about this topic! ppl act like they are scared to put this man on blast about his wickedness but dont get me wrong im not perfect but i aint dissin Jesus neither. WOW...............You know what; I listened to this song alot of times and never even heard those lyrics until your blog made me pay closer attention! I'm dissapointed in his choice of words....I am a child & fan of Jesus Christ...& I love his words way more than JayZ's!!!  It sad because I think as an adult I should have paid more attention to what I was bumping my head to.

Since coming to the Lord 5 years ago, I really haven't listened to any secular hip-hop however, when I saw Pastor Cox's video I actually went to the song and listened to what he was saying. It's crazy, because Jay-Z gives props to all these false god worshipers (Afrikaan Bambata -- found of the hip hop "religion", Bob Barley - avid Rasta, Haile Selassie worshiper, even to Catholics who worship the "Virgin" Mary. However, he has no props for the King of Kings, and says that He doesn't save and life starts after the church ends! Blasphemy!!!
I saw Pastor Cox's video posted on facebook and some people were saying that Jay-Z was just using it as a metaphor for the girl -- but even the metaphor is OUT OF PLACE!!! JESUS CHRIST SAVES THE LOWEST OF THE LOW -- so even if Jay-Z was saying it specifically for the girl in his video it goes against one of my favorite scriptures in the Holy Bible:
1 Timothy 1:15 - Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Jesus Christ came in the world to save sinners - of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinner, Christ Jesus might desplay his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.

I pray that Jay-Z truly repents from his sin, and serves Christ because he is doing exactly what the devil did -- trying to steal glory from the Almighty God!!! And like the devil - who had no opportunity to repent -- he is headed towards eternal condemnation and suffering of the wrath of God.

Can the name of Christ not withstand persecution? Jay Z isn't robbing Christ of anything. If the legacy of Christ has survived the graphic betrayal and beating you described in this video, and if His name is still glorified after hanging on a cross butt naked, then surely the words of Jay Z is not going to stop the mission of Christ. Jay Z doesn't have the power nor the authority to rob Christ or christians of anything. He's speaking from his own dark heart in this song...so pray for him.

This is nothing for us as Christians to be alarmed about. The bible talked about people denying Christ and the spirit of the anti-Christ being in the world, so why are we acting so surprised?  Jay Z has never confessed Christ.....It doesn't matter if this song is #1 in all of the music charts in the world, Christ will always be lifted and exalted...This doesn't change anything.

When are we gonna set a standard as followers of our Lord Jesus Christ? not of doctrine, not for man, but according to the word of God....When are we gonna stop just believing or taking every low blow. Jay-Z is a freemason. Do your research. What Jay-Z said is exactly what he meant. Life beginning when 'the church' ends is not just a stab at God's people it's a full on assault. If anything this song should inspire us young believers in Christ to hold fast to our faith and ask God for the wisdom to speak to those with ears to hear. We really are witnessing spiritual warfare, and clearly Jay-Z's lyrics will open the door for other secular 'artists' to further blaspheme God's name.This shouldn't surprise you, at least not anymore. If tomorrow Jay-Z in an interview comes out and says he has lost all faith in Christianity how many young people would dismiss his music? How many would give excuses for him? How many would sympathize with him? How many would lose their own faith, or shut themselves off from the potential of being saved?

Most young people really don't KNOW God, and already live Godless lives. If Jay-Z (the most idolized secular rapper alive) makes it a trend to bash Christianity well then what can we expect from the rest of the industry? Colossians 2:8- See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy or empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

I have been a follower for christ since I can remeber,and now that I am a teen to be honest its not that easy to be your own person now a days.I remeber singing along to this song on the radio weeks ago.Its funny how we don't hear these things when they are singing it.I had to listen carefully a few times to actually understand what JayZ was saying.Now that I found out about this I take the time to apologize to my lord and savior Jesus Christ because if I had known of this I would not even had sing the song in the first place.I'm not going to lie sometimes I wake up in the morning praying to God to make the rapture take place already.My life is not easy and high school is not making things any easier,but God sacrificed so much for me.I'm not what you call a "Perfect Christian" but each day I do the best I can to please God.And If it means to not go buy a JayZ album anymore then I will do it.I don't no about anyone else but lets show the world what God has to offer.

Frankly, I feel that the Jay-Z verse is an open and shut case.  I agree 100% with Pastor Cox HOWEVER perhaps Christians should be rejoicing that Jay-Z has put Jesus on blast or did you really believe that the extent of Christian living was reading the Bible, going to church on Sunday and 'good works?'

Before Christ returns certain events have to play out.  False prophets will put Jesus on blast and - for a time - they will have wide influence.  It is hard to imagine any other time in the last 1500 years where an influential person could send such a global message without a response (in most cases violent).  This highlights how far the Church has fallen from grace IMHO.  

When John Lennon said the Beatles were the greatest thing since Jesus Christ, he was killed a few days later.

When King Herod proclaimed in the Book of Acts he was God, he dropped dead.

Jay Z is playing with fire.  I pray he repents before its too late.

Just because you say Jay Z is not a theologian and is not meaning the text in a historic representation of the truth; does not mean he is right in what he has said.  If a man worships Satan because he knows not Christ does not make him innocent of treason against God.  Because Jay Z is ignorant to his lyrics impacts does not make him innocent of the results.  When people listen to music they hear pieces of verses and use that as contextual truth.  They do not dissect the song into bits and pieces.  Just as if you were speaking in public, if you say something that can be taken in wrong context most will believe that is what is meant.  God gives us all minds to sensor ourselves and say what can only be taken as it is meant to be taken, the English language has lots more words and phrases that can convey what Jay Z was meaning, but if a man says something in court (life) that can be taken the wrong way, then the judgement can mean Death, simply because they chose not to think.

 so we all can agree that jay-z is an anti christ. and there are other reasons that back this statement up. Look at the good girl gone bad album. rihanna is  singing about being raped by the demon rain man and has a video showing her getting raped by the rain man. then she has a song just after that called disturbia, which is the state that your in while under control of a demon or possessor.  the video for that song showes just that. the hook to the song is a chant to get possessed by this demon. so if we just look at his track record, he has never been anything but an antichrist. so to all of those christians who have been deceived by his treachery, remember that satan took 1/3 of the angels with him when he fell from heaven, so the devil can be very convincing, even to the strongest of minds. be careful who you let into your mind body and spirit

I really liked the song but I did not like that particular verse where he talks about Jesus, because I am a follower of Jesus Christ myself. After I've heard the song, I went to ask to my friend who is not a christian that loves Jay-z, if jay-z really literally meant what he was saying. And my friend told me that No, what he meant is that spiritual life ends the church ends and the real life starts when the church ends. But the funny thing about his comment is that I believe spiritual life is a real life and there is no other way that Jay-z could mean other things when he said "Jesus can't save you". I did not tell my friend what I thought because I was confused but jay-z did mean what he said and I know that is not true!!!! I will make sure I spread out Pastor Cox's words to my friends!

Music sometimes gets overlooked when one turns to Christ. It is the one thing that can be listened to quietly on an Ipod after church in the car. It can be in the commercial between your favorites shows. The devil gets attacked on his so called BIG THINGS-homosexuality, drinking, fornication...but my dear friends the so called small things are the ones that can just trip you up...Music. It doesn't have to be blasting from a car, or a night club...it's so easy to let the words...."Jesus can't save you" slip through your ears...and then you wonder why your soul just does not feel right. Mr. Tye had a song...listening to unGodly music and claim to praise the Lord. Christians let us be active and stand up for Christ. Put down the [music]...that only gives you temporary satifaction... a good dance, and pick up the music that uplifts. I am not saying that if a song does not have Jesus in it don't listen but if that song goes against what Jesus is saying in his word than it must not be listened to. Whenever I hear a song about my FATHER, my heart melts and some secular music that I with caution listen to...i.e Elliot Yamin-it just makes me have a great dance and can never speak to me as to a song like "I TRUST YOU [lord]".

The sad thing is that most secular music does nothing but glorify everything that the Lord hates. Its a terrible thing that the music that our kids love is this very music.
