Palos's in China - Message 3

But by far, one of the coolest things that has happened within these last couple of weeks has been the time we have spent teaching english to Chinese high school students!  The six of us split into three groups of two and taught two classes of about 20+ students.  They knew very little english and we had to come up with our own lesson plans.  The best thing about this whole experience was that they asked us to intoduce ourselves in front of most of the school and do a little performance.  So needless to say, we did our thang.  We sang a song to Dad as our friend Matty played the guitar and another two played the harmonica and played a little drum.  Afterwards I got on the mic while my friend Geoff kicked a beat box and rapped a little bit. The kids were so excited. Even the little 7-9 year olds were throwing their hands from side to side. LOL  But the best part about it was, on that day there were government officials visiting the school around the same time we were perfoming.  We were still doing our thang (low key tho)lol.

Palos's in China - Message 2

The living conditons out here are really hard. And we got to experience first hand how hard they really are. Twelve of us got the chance to spend the night with a family of Tibetan nomads in their tent made out of yak skin.  Yes, yak skin. And it wasn't waterproof as we found out when it started raining. Needless to say, it was cold. They accomadated us pretty good though with some plastic so we didn't get wet.  It's right at the beggining of summer but it's still cold over here.  These people live like this year around even in the cold of winter! with their yaks and family. It's crazy. This experience reminded me of how our brother had no place to lay his head that was his own for about 3 years.
