Give Us Barabbas! - 04 Oct 2009

Jesus is on trial in our lives everyday. And the sad thing is that we often choose Barabbas even when we're professing Jesus to be Lord. There are many ways we can choose Barabbas even in the church. In fact, in this sermon we learn that the very thing that was in the people crying out "Give us Barabbas!" is also in us: the desire to get rid of Jesus so we can do what we want. This is a very challenging and very encouraging message. Listen in as Minister Eddie Prophet expresses the urgency of the short time we have to abandon this world and choose Jesus before it's too late.

We know that the word Christian actually means Christ-like. However, does the body of Christ have an understanding of how to walk this out?
The identity that God calls us to causes us to separate from things that offend His character. If Jesus is the Life, then all else is death. If Jesus is the Truth, then all else is deception. Jesus Himself claims to be THE WAY. You can look at the 26 other so-called Holy Books (including the Koran, Bhagavad Gita, Talmud, etc) and you'll see that no other religious prophet claimed to be the way. However, Jesus' identity was so crucial that God Himself had to reveal it to Simon Peter.
If Jesus Christ doubted for a second who He was, then He would not have been able to do the things he did. And if we doubt the power we have in Christ - power to say no to ungodliness in this present evil age, power to surrender all that we have to the King of kings, power to be a walking epistle and inspire our generation to live a life worthy of what the True and Living God suffered and endured for us at Calvary - if we doubt this power we must ask ourselves, "do we really believe?"

The Great Expectation: God Expects you to Win - June 22, 2008

I have to say: I've been soooo hype to get this podcast out to you all! This is definitely a message that the Body of Christ needs to hear.
When God wrote Christianity HE WROTE VICTORY, NOT DEFEAT! However, most Christians have been taught that they are defeated before they even try to live for God. Have you ever heard this: "aww, we all fall short" or "we won't be holy 'til we enter glory" or "God know's you're going to sin?" MAN! Where's the hope?!? When you look in the Bible you don't see this type of talk, you see examples of victory. Look at King David, when he trusted in the Lord, he was always victorious in battle. The woman that had been bleeding, EXPECTED that when she touched just the hem of Christ's garment she would have victory over her disease.
How can we have victory over sin if we don't expect victory? We know more about what to do when we sin, than what to do to keep us from sinning. It's so sad, before people even trying to live for the Lord they are already content with coming in 2nd or 3rd place. They don't know that God expects us to come in 1st place - to have the victory.
The amazing thing about God is that HE GIVES US HIS POWER, HIS SPIRIT, WHICH ENABLES US TO GET THE VICTORY! Pastor Cox shows you how the very Word of God breaks the chains of defeatism in the Christian's life and gives us His Spirit to overcome our flesh, the world, and the evil one. Amen!
Strength in the Presence of Weakness - 16 Mar 2008

To encourage you past that to see the power that God has to offer all who will believe, Pastor Cox followed up with a message on the power of your faith to push back the gates of Hell even when you have been beaten down by the world and you have a little strength left.
