Sometimes it can be frustrating when we find that no matter how hard we push to stay up in this Christian life that somehow we never seem to be where we want to be. It is easy to feel a sense of shame of being who we are at certain points in our pursuit of God, and at times there seems to be no way out from under the discouraging struggle. Yet the problem is that often times we're just trying to do the right thing and we have no real relationship with God at all. We're focused on blessings or ministry but not on Christ. In this sermon Pastor Cox describes this struggle in the life of a man who wrote many psalms on this very frustrating topic. David is certainly an important man in the Bible.  "A man after God's own heart."  So, why did David fall into such a shocking sin against another man, that man's wife and God Himself?  After all this is the man who stood for the Lord against Goliath.  It wasn't clearly evident how or exactly when, but at some point, David's heart drifted away from the Lord.  Even though David was winning military campaigns and prospering as God's anointed, the wheels of his heart were in motion to sin against God.
