It Matters How You Stand
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 02/07/2010 - 12:00.
In the day-to-day battles of Christian living it is natural to fall into complacency and forget that it is not easy to remain standing against the attacks that will face your faith. But God's Word tells us not just to stand any old way but to "stand firm," and it says this with good reason.
From those exalting secondary issues, to cults, to the world, to your own heart, everything is in competition for our faith. In this sermon, Pastor Justin Cox encourages us to have a Holy Ghost dog bark in us in order to stand and guard the property of our hearts against any thing or person in our lives that might challenge our relationship with Christ.
So He's Risen, Now What?
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 11/15/2009 - 12:00.
Many of us have heard since we were little that Jesus Christ rose again from the dead but often times we don't bother looking into the evidence. Minister Facey shares evidences of the resurrection and about the changes in the society and the changes in those that believed that they personally had witnessed the resurrected Christ.
Not only do we not know for sure that he actually did rise from the dead but we also don't know why He would have to. The sermon discusses the significance of the resurrection in our lives. It is not merely a fact but it is a fact that should impact every area of our lives. Listen in as Minister Facey tells us how.
Have You Seen This?
Submitted by Layman on Wed, 10/21/2009 - 12:00.
There is something different about the way that some people serve Christ. It is really easy to say, "I know what Jesus did for me," and to recite some stuff we've learned in church, but it's a whole other thing to have literally witnessed Jesus Christ being beaten beyond recognition because of something that you did. In this sermon Pastor Justin Cox explains the difference between these two groups of people--1. those that recite what they've been told and 2. those that have truly seen what their sins did to Jesus, who endured their punishment willingly. The major difference is found in how this truth impacts the lives of those who have truly seen Christ crucified for them. It's something they can't forget. A sermon that will challenge you to discern whether you've truly seen Christ's sacrifice, or only heard about it.
Protected by Prayer - 27 Sept 2009
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 09/27/2009 - 12:00.
Have you ever been in a situation that was so desperate that you needed God right now? Was your prayer at that time a lazy or flippant prayer? Were you distracted with the things going on around you? Were you easily pulled away? Of course not. Often times we tend to think there are certain times when we need God’s help and other times when we don’t, and so we are not ready to ask for God’s help or even maintain a connection with God in our minds so that we are ready to hear, trust, and obey what He says. Is this in agreement with God’s Word? As Christians we’re all in a battle against forces much stronger than ourselves every moment and need to be focused not just on the battle but on our relationship with God or we begin to trust ourselves and find ourselves falling prey to temptation and losing ground in the war. We don’t realize that if we’re not a praying people we’ll never make it out the other end of this life in one piece.
Do you ever ask God if it is His will for you to go to a party or hook up with someone? Is prayer a boring chore to you? Are your prayers effective? Maybe you’re not seeing prayer correctly. Next to God’s Word perhaps the most valuable thing the Christian possesses is his unlimited access to the throne of God. In this sermon Pastor Cox discusses how God has not merely spoken in the past but still speaks to us today. Are we ready to listen? Are we moving forward with God while we listen? Listen in as Pastor Cox concludes the warfare series by speaking on this important and often neglected topic. As you listen be inspired by the great protection found in an effective prayer.
Keep Your Helmet On - 13 Sept 2009
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 09/13/2009 - 12:00.
How are you fighting? Do you feel weak? Tired? How strong is your hope? Are you fighting this spiritual war like you're on the winning side or the losing side? Did you know that other people, and God, can tell whether or not you believe you have a chance in this thing?
This is a sermon that anyone who has been a Christian for awhile ought to listen to. It is common for Christians to get so bogged down with Christian activities and duties that we neglect our salvation, then we get beat down by sin and walk away confused. The mind is the devil's playground if it isn't kept by Jesus Christ. The devil knows that this is a vulnerability in our lives and will do what he can to take full advantage of it. In this sermon Pastor Cox discusses the dangers of going through this war without a helmet and even discusses those who wear the "wrong helmet"--those who place their hope in something other than the gospel of Jesus Christ. I've had a few people already talk to me about getting a copy of this sermon because of its immediate relavence in their lives. If you're starting to lose hope, let this sermon inspire you to keep pushing in the grace that was given to you in Jesus Christ alone.

The Great Expectation: Our Identity - 13 Jul 2008
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 07/13/2008 - 09:00.
We know that the word Christian actually means Christ-like. However, does the body of Christ have an understanding of how to walk this out?
The identity that God calls us to causes us to separate from things that offend His character. If Jesus is the Life, then all else is death. If Jesus is the Truth, then all else is deception. Jesus Himself claims to be THE WAY. You can look at the 26 other so-called Holy Books (including the Koran, Bhagavad Gita, Talmud, etc) and you'll see that no other religious prophet claimed to be the way. However, Jesus' identity was so crucial that God Himself had to reveal it to Simon Peter.
If Jesus Christ doubted for a second who He was, then He would not have been able to do the things he did. And if we doubt the power we have in Christ - power to say no to ungodliness in this present evil age, power to surrender all that we have to the King of kings, power to be a walking epistle and inspire our generation to live a life worthy of what the True and Living God suffered and endured for us at Calvary - if we doubt this power we must ask ourselves, "do we really believe?"
Listen as Pastor Cox helps Christians everywhere to understand the implications of what being a Christian really means. Let's take our identity back church!

So You Sinned...Now What? - 8 June 2008
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 06/08/2008 - 09:00.
When you first get saved it is so exhilarating! You're pumped and ready to witness to everyone you come into contact with. You can just feel the Holy Spirit moving through you and using you. Am I right? You feel like nothing can bring you down.
And then you sin. ugh.
Sin affects us in so many ways. Psychologically, your thoughts begin to change. Emotionally, the shame you feel from knowing the same friends and family you were just witnessing may be aware that you've just sinned, can discourage you from ever wanting to share the Gospel again. And even worse than that, the devil knows that you've sinned and will use that moment of weakness to try and take you out of the faith for eternity.
You hear alot of people say, "well even David sinned" and that is true, but what did David do after sinning? Instead of condemning himself, David prayed for restoration and vowed to teach sinners the Lord's ways (Psalm 51). Listen as Pastor Cox pushes you to get back up and keep running the race of faith even after stumbling. Just imagine how much louder the crowd roars when the team they thought would lose comes up from behind and wins. We too have more influence after getting up. When the enemy thought he had us defeated we come back even stronger!

Does Your Life Show You Believe? - 1 June 2008
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 06/01/2008 - 20:00.
Most likely you've heard the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, but you've never heard it like this.
The Israelites (also known as the Hebrews) were slaves in Babylon when the three Hebrews boys got an opportunity to be more than that. Most people in this situation would be so grateful for the opportunity that they would do anything to stay in the king's good graces. However, the Hebrew boys made a resolve to live for God like the covenant was never broken. Even though it looked like God had forsaken them they still made a resolve to serve only Him. And they took that resolve all the way into the fire where Christ was right there to protect them.
It was their lifestyle that showed their obedience to God - not their lips. Listen as Pastor Cox pushes you to look at your life and see if your life shows that you believe in Jesus Christ who will be there to save you too when you forsake fame, notariety and position in this life for a life lived sold out to your Savior.

Discouragement - 25 May 2008
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 05/25/2008 - 20:00.
Do you sometimes feel beat down? You're tired of the fight that it seems to take to live sold out to Christ. You're almost ready to quit. You know what? Many throughout history have felt the same way. And at that point, they had a choice - give in to discouragement and quit or trust that just as God delivered his people many times in the past, He would come through again.
For the Israelites coming out of Egypt and headed into the promised land, there was nothing standing in the way of them getting what God promised them...nothing except Discouragement. Listen as Pastor Cox describes what Discouragement can do in the lives of God's chosen people if you let it.
