Sunday Sermon: The Cross - 29 March 2009
Submitted by La-Aja on Sat, 03/28/2009 - 23:00.America is almost over saturated with the knowledge about Jesus Christ dying on the cross, so much so that we often take for granted if people have really understood the message.
Joe Montoya, who recently became a member of the ministry team at the Movement, does an amazing job of encouraging us to go beyond just mere intellectual ascent of what the cross means.
Already this message has blessed and inspired so many people to make personal the amazing grace shown to us when Christ died for our sins.

Sunday Sermon: Satan's Plan Against the Youth - 22 Mar 2009
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 03/22/2009 - 15:00.
When Eric Vaughn first came to P4CM it seemed as if he was a quiet young man. However, he was actually soaking in the Gospel and applying the Word of God to himself.
As a freshman track athlete on UCLA's campus, Eric could be partying it up, being popular, or even chasing riches that fade away. However, in his first year he vowed in his heart to separate himself unto the Lord and has been making an impact on his campus with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Listen as Eric speaks on Satan's plan against the youth of his generation.

Sunday Sermon: Did Jesus Really Die for Sin? - 15 March 2009
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 03/15/2009 - 07:00.Non-Christian historians affirm the fact that Jesus Christ actually lived and walked the earth. Every religion acknowledges Jesus; some say he was a good man, others say he was a sorceror or healer.
So instead of saying he doesn't exist, many try to re-define who he was and what he did. They did so because it is hard to embrace a Jesus Christ that came to die for sin when many things we love and find fulfillment in glorify the same sin. If Jesus Christ came to die for sin then that means that he cares about how we live, and it affirms that there is a price to be paid for sin...an eternal price.
Listen as Pastor Cox explains how the only sacrifice God is going to accept as sufficient payment for our sin is Christ's death on the cross, and how we should be affected by this magnificent event.

Sunday Sermon: Made in God's Likeness - 22 Feb 2009
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 02/22/2009 - 15:00.
The book of Genesis tells us that God created us in His likeness. As children of the Most High God we bear His image and as a result our actions and attitudes play a large part of how people see and understand God. We cannot deliberately live a lifestyle of sin and disobedience towards God and think it has no effect on how unbelievers percieve Christ, his holiness and power to deliver from sin.
Malachi 2 shows us that the issue of disobedience is not simply us refusing to do some things that God has asked us to do --- Malachi reveals that we have actually turned our heart away from God. "And now this admonition is for you, O priests. If you do not listen, and if you do not set your heart to honor my name..." Sin affects our hearts. If we are not willing to honor God with the most important areas of our life, then we must question if we've truly given Christ our heart. If we, as Christians - children bearing the name of Christ - are not willing to honor Him as a Great King, how can we expect the world to exalt Him?
In this sermon, Pastor Justin Cox continues in Romans 12 and the book of Malachi explaining how God is on a mission to return the glory and redeem the honor to His name.

Sunday Sermon: Is God Worthy of Your Praise? pt 2 - 8 Feb 2009
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 02/08/2009 - 05:00.
When you think about it, there are a lot of things in our culture competing for our passion. Sports Teams. Social Causes. Family. Relationships. Careers. And as they try to suck every minute of our time and talent the Author and Source of life is begging and pleading to be our everything.
Often times we put Christ on the backburner because He's not very popular in our society. If we were going to the prom and had to choose our date, Christ would be our laaaasssst option. It doesn't matter if we've grown up in the church...It doesn't matter if our Father or Uncle or Granddaddy is the Pastor, If we have not understood and are not keeping the sacrifice of Christ in the forefront of our mind there is no way that we would be willing or able to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to Christ.
Listen as Pastor Cox shows us how to take the knowledge we have of God's mercy and make it personal.

Is God Worthy of Your Praise? - 1 Feb 2009
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 02/01/2009 - 15:00.
Our bodies are one of our most prized possessions. The fitness and clothing industries bring in billions of dollars each year from people wanting to stay fit or just adorn their bodies with the latest fashions. It's no surpise then, that God tells us in Romans 12:1 to "offer our bodies [to Him] as living sacrifices." And not just our physical bodies, but our entire lives.
Like the Levitical priests in the book of Malachi we want to offer God blemished sacrifices, portions of our lives, and expect Him to accept them. The reality, however, is that God is not going to accept them and by us not worshiping God with our whole life, we're showing the world that God, our Creator and Sustainer, is not worthy of our lives -- even though Christ shed his blood to redeem us. It took Christ's physical body, his entire life, to pay the penalty of our sin. Now God wants our whole life in return.
