Is Your Religion Keeping You From Salvation?
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 06/06/2010 - 12:00.
Flintstone Vitamins taste so good and everyone is telling you they're good for you that when you're a kid you might treat them like they're candy. You forget that there is a right way or a purpose in eating the vitamins. This is the same problem that many people in the church have when it comes to good works.
It is so easy to have a religious belief or confidence based on some intellectual knowledge rather than through genuine saving faith in what Christ did. Too often we as humans are inclined to dress ourselves in good works, stop doing some things and think that makes us okay with God. Listen in to this very important message by Pastor Cox on the danger of building your hope on religious practices that may keep you from salvation.
Is God Really Good?
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 05/02/2010 - 12:00.
If God is so good then how come there is so much suffering in the world and in our lives individually? Yet we are told that God is good so either we've been lied to or there is something wrong with our natural understanding of God's goodness.
In this sermon, Pastor Justin Cox brings a very valuable sermon about the things we blame God for that aren't His fault and gives a good explanation about some of the frustrations we meet with day-to-day as Christians. This sermon gives light to the reasons for the things God wants us to do and why we don't want to do them.
Too often we put qualities and characteristics on God that do not really belong to Him. Is God really behind all the rules that we place on ourselves or is it our own doing? Hopefully this sermon encourages you to trust God's judgments rather than your own.

The Great Expectation: Our Identity - 13 Jul 2008
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 07/13/2008 - 09:00.
We know that the word Christian actually means Christ-like. However, does the body of Christ have an understanding of how to walk this out?
The identity that God calls us to causes us to separate from things that offend His character. If Jesus is the Life, then all else is death. If Jesus is the Truth, then all else is deception. Jesus Himself claims to be THE WAY. You can look at the 26 other so-called Holy Books (including the Koran, Bhagavad Gita, Talmud, etc) and you'll see that no other religious prophet claimed to be the way. However, Jesus' identity was so crucial that God Himself had to reveal it to Simon Peter.
If Jesus Christ doubted for a second who He was, then He would not have been able to do the things he did. And if we doubt the power we have in Christ - power to say no to ungodliness in this present evil age, power to surrender all that we have to the King of kings, power to be a walking epistle and inspire our generation to live a life worthy of what the True and Living God suffered and endured for us at Calvary - if we doubt this power we must ask ourselves, "do we really believe?"
Listen as Pastor Cox helps Christians everywhere to understand the implications of what being a Christian really means. Let's take our identity back church!

The Great Expectation: Redeeming the Language - 29 Jun 2008
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 06/29/2008 - 09:00.
The Bible says that when we accept Christ into our life by believing what He did for us on the cross we become a new creation. However, to put it plainly, we've been conditioned by culture and the media to hate our new life in Christ. When we turn on TV or listen to music or watch a movie we're hearing language that defines Christianity in a negative light.
The devil has manipulated the language of Christianity so that we now have a negative view of ourselves in Christ. We believe that Christ has the victory in the war, but that we will lose every individual battle. We have been programmed that when we fall short to accept the excuse that "we're all sinners" and that "no one's perfect" to the point that we've forgotten that Christ died to give us power over sin. We now have a new life. We are no longer slaves to sin. We are now slaves to righteousness. We will only begin to walk in this newness of life once we understand this great grace given to us, which Christ poured out through his death on the cross.
Listen as Pastor Cox begins to expose what the enemy doing to the language of Christianity, and what the Body of Christ can do to redeem it.

So You Sinned...Now What? - 8 June 2008
Submitted by La-Aja on Sun, 06/08/2008 - 09:00.
When you first get saved it is so exhilarating! You're pumped and ready to witness to everyone you come into contact with. You can just feel the Holy Spirit moving through you and using you. Am I right? You feel like nothing can bring you down.
And then you sin. ugh.
Sin affects us in so many ways. Psychologically, your thoughts begin to change. Emotionally, the shame you feel from knowing the same friends and family you were just witnessing may be aware that you've just sinned, can discourage you from ever wanting to share the Gospel again. And even worse than that, the devil knows that you've sinned and will use that moment of weakness to try and take you out of the faith for eternity.
You hear alot of people say, "well even David sinned" and that is true, but what did David do after sinning? Instead of condemning himself, David prayed for restoration and vowed to teach sinners the Lord's ways (Psalm 51). Listen as Pastor Cox pushes you to get back up and keep running the race of faith even after stumbling. Just imagine how much louder the crowd roars when the team they thought would lose comes up from behind and wins. We too have more influence after getting up. When the enemy thought he had us defeated we come back even stronger!

Jesus spoke with so much wisdom and authority. He raised the standard for the Laws of God to a level never before seen, especially lust. Listen as Pastor Cox peers into the historical roots of the words of Christ and exposes the REAL definition of lust. Christ ask us if our we are willing to pluck out our right eye if it would get in the way of being sold out to him. Would you?

Submitted by TQ on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 20:00.
In the second part of the revival series being held during Wednesday night Bible Study, Pastor Cox speaks about love. There are so many places that we look for love in the world today - in music, movies, friends, family, the opposite sex. But God so loved the world...you know the rest, but do you know His love, do you appreciate His love? How do you respond to His love? Listen as Pastor Cox speaks about how this love can bring about revival.

Revival Series: A Heart of Revival - 23 Apr 2008
Submitted by TQ on Wed, 04/23/2008 - 20:00.
David is certainly an important man in the Bible. "A man after God's own heart." So, why did David fall into such a shocking sin against another man, that man's wife and God Himself? After all this is the man who stood for the Lord against Goliath. It wasn't clearly evident how or exactly when, but at some point, David's heart drifted away from the Lord. Even though David was winning military campaigns and prospering as God's anointed, the wheels of his heart were in motion to sin against God.
Has your heart drifted away from God? Maybe nobody else can notice, but you know and God knows that you are not living your life on fire for Him. You may need a revival in your life. Listen as Pastor Cox speaks boldly and encouragingly on this issue.
