Who Are You Living to Worship? Pt. 2
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 07/18/2010 - 12:00.
What are we living for? Are we even consciously aware of it? It is so easy to become so caught up in the day-to-day that we cease to really deliberately choose Christ. As a result many of us find ourselves actually living for many other things not only in our actions but in the reasons behind our actions.
In this sermon, Minister Chris Davis continues discussing the importance of God's ownership of our lives by addressing the part of us that only we and God see--our hearts. This is a very challenging message because it confronts the inner life and digs at the root of our behaviors, and is sure to bring conviction along with it. Be blessed and challenged as you listen. (Note: the first few minutes were not recorded so bear with it, as you may be lost for the first few seconds.)
Add This to Your Christian Goals
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 06/27/2010 - 12:00.
Most of us have goals that we have set for ourselves in life, but how many of us can honestly say that we have made suffering one of the major goals for our lives? Yet the Apostle Paul said that he had a goal in life and was focused on the achievement thereof--namely, that he might know Christ in the fellowship of His sufferings. The other apostles also counted it an honor to share in the sufferings of Christ. How do we take it?
In this sermon Pastor Justin Cox shares the importance of making this a goal in our lives--to experience suffering for Christ, and to find Christ in the midst of suffering. Pastor Cox challenges us to endure in order to know Christ in a more intimate way than we have yet known Him.
How to Resist Being Recruited to Become a Dog
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 05/30/2010 - 12:00.
It is easy to get so caught up with what you are doing for Christ that you forget to see that it should all come from the finished work of what Christ did for you. If we do not recognize this fact, we're likely to start trying to work FOR salvation rather than FROM salvation.
In this sermon Pastor Justin Cox compares physical circumcision to spiritual circumcision and preaches on the dangers of adding on to what Christ has already done. Paul calls such people, who exalt something other than Christ for salvation and recruit others to their way of thinking, "dogs." It is easy to become a "dog" if you're not rooted and trusting solely in what Christ has done to save you from sin. This sermon is a real "treat" for me. I hope you enjoy it!
Jesus Christ State of Mind pt. 2
Submitted by Layman on Wed, 04/21/2010 - 12:00.
It is clear in scripture that we are supposed to imitate Christ by being of the same mind as Christ. But what was Christ's mindset?
In this sermon Pastor Justin Cox gives us a few ideas as to what the mind of Christ really was, and compares true humility with false humility. Listen in on this sermon from Phil. 2, it is sure to inspire you to walk in Christ's mindset.
How to Ensure Your Dedication Doesn't Suck
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 01/31/2010 - 12:00.
If you've ever seen someone on the side of the road in a Statue of Liberty costume to advertise for an organization, you may have noticed how committed they are to their jobs. They ought to make us question just how dedicated we are to God. Are we as unashamed to represent Christ as they are to represent the company they work for?
We ought to have more dedication to Christ than to anything in our lives because of what He has done for us. We should be down for whatever God may have for us. Pastor Justin Cox gives us three principles to apply to our lives to ensure that our dedication to Christ won't suck. This is a helpful and very practical message to believers.
I Almost Got Saved
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 11/08/2009 - 12:00.
It's been said that an apostate isn't someone who walks around spreading heresy but someone who gets all the way to the point of having a true, vibrant walk with God and backs off from it. Often times God is trying to get ahold of our hearts and as much as we say we want Him to be our everything there are still certain things that we are holding back from Him. In the story of the rich young ruler Jesus is confronted with a person who self righteously believes he is good enough to get into heaven. But when he was confronted with the truth, that he was placing his wealth before God, he went away sad. Many of us may sing in church, tithe, and do a lot of good things whereby we think ourselves right with God, but God knows what really owns our hearts. Unfortunately many of us may be holding something back and we're almost saved but we're not willing to give ourselves completely to God. In this sermon Pastor Cox encourages any in this state, not to just quit like the young man in the story but to seek God for a new heart. Fight until He has your will.
What is your Right Eye? - 18 May 2008
Submitted by lilcadet101 on Sun, 05/18/2008 - 20:00.
Jesus spoke with so much wisdom and authority. He raised the standard for the Laws of God to a level never before seen, especially lust. Listen as Pastor Cox peers into the historical roots of the words of Christ and exposes the REAL definition of lust. Christ ask us if our we are willing to pluck out our right eye if it would get in the way of being sold out to him. Would you?

Revival Series: A Heart of Revival - 23 Apr 2008
Submitted by TQ on Wed, 04/23/2008 - 20:00.
David is certainly an important man in the Bible. "A man after God's own heart." So, why did David fall into such a shocking sin against another man, that man's wife and God Himself? After all this is the man who stood for the Lord against Goliath. It wasn't clearly evident how or exactly when, but at some point, David's heart drifted away from the Lord. Even though David was winning military campaigns and prospering as God's anointed, the wheels of his heart were in motion to sin against God.
Has your heart drifted away from God? Maybe nobody else can notice, but you know and God knows that you are not living your life on fire for Him. You may need a revival in your life. Listen as Pastor Cox speaks boldly and encouragingly on this issue.
