Who Are You Living to Worship? Pt. 2
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 07/18/2010 - 12:00.
What are we living for? Are we even consciously aware of it? It is so easy to become so caught up in the day-to-day that we cease to really deliberately choose Christ. As a result many of us find ourselves actually living for many other things not only in our actions but in the reasons behind our actions.
In this sermon, Minister Chris Davis continues discussing the importance of God's ownership of our lives by addressing the part of us that only we and God see--our hearts. This is a very challenging message because it confronts the inner life and digs at the root of our behaviors, and is sure to bring conviction along with it. Be blessed and challenged as you listen. (Note: the first few minutes were not recorded so bear with it, as you may be lost for the first few seconds.)

We as human beings seem to have something inside us that longs to worship. There is something about us that makes us want to find something we can be obsessed with or consumed by. Sadly, so many people, even within the church, find something other than God to set their affections on--a job, a relationship, or even works they're doing for God.
In this message, Minister Chris Davis teaches us that worship is more than just lifting our hands during a worship session but that it is attached a lifestyle of love and devotion that comes from gratitude for what Christ has done in the Christian's life. This is a good message to use to examine whether you're heart is really devoted entirely to God or if there are other things that compete with your affections for Him.
Have You Seen This?

There is something different about the way that some people serve Christ. It is really easy to say, "I know what Jesus did for me," and to recite some stuff we've learned in church, but it's a whole other thing to have literally witnessed Jesus Christ being beaten beyond recognition because of something that you did. In this sermon Pastor Justin Cox explains the difference between these two groups of people--1. those that recite what they've been told and 2. those that have truly seen what their sins did to Jesus, who endured their punishment willingly. The major difference is found in how this truth impacts the lives of those who have truly seen Christ crucified for them. It's something they can't forget. A sermon that will challenge you to discern whether you've truly seen Christ's sacrifice, or only heard about it.
Keep Your Helmet On - 13 Sept 2009

How are you fighting? Do you feel weak? Tired? How strong is your hope? Are you fighting this spiritual war like you're on the winning side or the losing side? Did you know that other people, and God, can tell whether or not you believe you have a chance in this thing?
This is a sermon that anyone who has been a Christian for awhile ought to listen to. It is common for Christians to get so bogged down with Christian activities and duties that we neglect our salvation, then we get beat down by sin and walk away confused. The mind is the devil's playground if it isn't kept by Jesus Christ. The devil knows that this is a vulnerability in our lives and will do what he can to take full advantage of it. In this sermon Pastor Cox discusses the dangers of going through this war without a helmet and even discusses those who wear the "wrong helmet"--those who place their hope in something other than the gospel of Jesus Christ. I've had a few people already talk to me about getting a copy of this sermon because of its immediate relavence in their lives. If you're starting to lose hope, let this sermon inspire you to keep pushing in the grace that was given to you in Jesus Christ alone.

Submitted by TQ on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 20:00.
In the second part of the revival series being held during Wednesday night Bible Study, Pastor Cox speaks about love. There are so many places that we look for love in the world today - in music, movies, friends, family, the opposite sex. But God so loved the world...you know the rest, but do you know His love, do you appreciate His love? How do you respond to His love? Listen as Pastor Cox speaks about how this love can bring about revival.
