What's Gonna Be New For You This Easter?
Submitted by Layman on Sun, 04/04/2010 - 12:00.
Because Easter represents the death and resurrection of Christ 2,000 years ago, this holiday is all about new beginnings. Every Easter many people buy new clothes to look fresh on their biannual visit to church. In this message Minister Facey uses this idea to ask the question, What new things are we going to get this Easter?
This sermon is a call to remove the grave clothes of our past and our own powerlessness against sin and to find confidence in the new life and power that God has promised us as we clothe ourselves in Christ. It is an inspiring push toward walking with God in a consistant way because our freedom to live new lives was purchased by Christ if we receive Him by faith.
Paul's Letter to Philippi

A tree that is half covered in fruit or leaves and is half naked just doesn’t look right. Why does one side seem dead and the other seem alive? The same is true spiritually. Often times people may appear to trust Christ in one area and find strength in that area but when it comes to being submitted in every area, well…let’s just say there are some bald spots.
When we have areas in our lives that we know are not lining up with His Word we often will seek comfort in scriptures that talk about God accepting us when we’ve fallen or we will become anxious and start trying to fix those areas and we fail to realize that all the power of the Christian life comes from the grace of God because of our faith in Christ.
This is a short message that is a little more like a teaching than the ordinary message preached by Pastor Cox. In this sermon we are encouraged to “tap into” Christ where all the power, joy, and fullness of the Christian life are found.
The Power of God's Sword - 20 Sept 2009

Did you know that Satan will do whatever he can to help you forget about the Word of God? His favorite thing to do to convince you not to use God's Word is to remind you that it severs friendships and slices through your life in ways that don't always feel good.Afterall, one truth about God's Word is that if you're going to wield it at all, the first place that it must be applied is to your own life. But why is the enemy so scared of us using this piece of armor?
Pastor Cox finishes off the spiritual warfare series by discussing this last piece of armor--the only piece of armor which God has given us for offensive attack. All the other pieces of armor are to protect us from the blows of the enemy but this piece of armor is so that we will turn and confront the enemy and push him back. Often times Christians in the midst of attack seem to be unable to use this sword when it matters most (in the midst of temptation) or they don't feel confident about using this sword, or they forget that they have the sword, or they feel burdened by the fact that they have to carry it around. In this sermon Pastor Cox equips us to strengthen both our grip and our confidence in the right uses of this strong weapon in God's armor.
