The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5 that if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. ANYONE.  However, sometimes are backgrounds can be resistors to that change.  Some people may say, "You don't know what I've been through" or "I've been in this sin so long."  And all of a sudden that anyone becomes SOME PEOPLE.

But God is saying that a war was fought on your behalf for your justification, liberation and right standing.  And if you are in this right standing, you ARE a new creation. The old is gone.  The wording in this passage is so plain and clear about this.
