Get Ready to Stand Alone - 14 Sep 2008

I often wondered how people who have been in the faith for years can continue to read the Bible. But, as I grow in my relationship with Christ I am constantly amazed at how much wisdom God has packed into what we think are simple stories.  Take the story of David and Goliath, the scripture used in this sermon. We've all heard it before, but honestly I've never heard it like this.

Listen as Pastor Cox shows us that although the Bible is constantly reminding us that we are not meant to be alone, we should ALWAYS be prepared stand for our King with or without the army of the saints!  Oftentimes, the war we face on a regular basis is one we can't bring our pastor into. We must realize that we serve the God of the universe and He has not given us the spirit of fear or timidity. We have the same Spirit in us that raised Christ from the grave. And with this knowledge and the power of the Spirit we do not have to hide behind the "strength" of an army.

The next time Goliath asks for an individual to step forward we will all INDIVIDUALLY be ready with our swords!
