The Great Expecation: How We Live - 20 July 2008

If you've gone to church long enough then I can almost guarantee you've heard the pastor shout from the pulpit, "Where are all the Davids? The Joshuas and Calebs?" These were admirable men in the Bible that stood up for God's truths. These men actually feared God and knew of His power, so they set themselves apart. They were Holy unto the Lord. So where are they all today?
The truth is, they are born everyday. However, as soon as they begin to walk in their purpose...as soon as they begin setting themselves apart for God, standing up for truth and righteousness, living a life worthy of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, they get smothered out. Not only do they have to resist the devil and crucify the desires of their own flesh, but they also have to endure the persecution of the world and even those in the church, who taunt that these would-be Joshas and Calebs think they're holier than Thou.
Listen as Pastor Cox explains how we've become more like the Judas Generation (*gasp*...i know, horrible isn't it?!). Many in the church talk more about how we are going to betray Christ, than how we are going to live for Him. Though it sounds bad now, take heart saints. For once we know the sickness we can begin to treat it.
